Ride up to the ceremony and dock at the venue’s private dock before exchanging vows at a beautiful waterfront celebration. The multi-level venue gives to-be-weds plenty of options to plan their ideal wedding. From outdoor tents to a spacious interior, the possibilities are virtually limitless.>
Shem Creek and the Charleston Harbor is the ideal site to host up to 300 guests in an outdoor wedding reception or up to 175 indoors. The private 60-foot dock is a boater’s dream and the ideal opportunity to create a once-in-a-lifetime wedding entrance.
Views of the Cooper River Bridge are breathtaking from the upper deck. Should you decide to host an outdoor ceremony on the grounds below, Cottage on the Creek will provide a 20-foot-by-40-foot deck to keep you and your guests comfortable. Setup for the wedding can’t begin before 9 a.m. All events, including cleanup and vendor departure, must be finished by midnight.
All catering and alcohol is provided in-house. The Cottage on the Creek takes pride in creating a signature menu that organically blends with your vision. From freshly made hors d’oeuvres to personally manned chef stations, you can treat your guests to an unforgettable experience.
To get a feel of the venue and all its natural wonder, you can schedule a visit on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The staff at the Cottage on the Creek will hold your requested date for five days before making it available. You’ll need to make a non-refundable deposit of 50 percent of your total invoice to secure the date for sure.
Couples will not be able to receive any wedding coordination from the Cottage on the Creek leading up to your wedding and the venue doesn’t provide any linens for your ceremony or reception. However, you can contact the office during normal business hours with any questions. On the day of, a banquet captain and selected staff members will arrive to the facility three hours before your event to begin catering preparation.
There isn’t a bridal suite on site, but there is a bridal holding room where you can dress, touch-up or store personal items. During the actual ceremony, you may play music, but the venue doesn’t provide any type of amplifiers or audio equipment.
The most attractive feature of the Cottage on the Creek is its unmatched location. Whether you’re a boat enthusiast or love the look of a waterfront sunset, you won’t find this anywhere else. Guests can drive their boats right up to the venue’s dock, but there’s also ample parking spaces for land vehicles.
Everything is available that you would need to enjoy a delectable, sit-down dinner or a lavish buffet. Pecan-encrusted chicken and braised short ribs are the ideal complement to a gorgeous maritime wedding celebration you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
